Richard Wolper is a business owner and entrepreneur with extensive experience in landscaping, restaurants, horizontal and vertical construction for clients, and his real estate developments. Possibly best known as the CEO and co-founder of the Mark 25 Companies, he is also a member of Black Rock Concrete LLC's ownership group. Black Rock Trees is an expansive tree farm located in the Idaho panhandle specializing in mature trees over 20 feet tall. He has developed projects worth hundreds of millions of dollars for multinational corporations such as Home Depot, Burton Lumber, and Walmart while also donating generously to numerous charitable causes.
Wolper was born in Warwick, Rhode Island, to a German-American family on June 15, 1966. As a teenager, Wolper moved to Utah, where he developed an interest in construction. Soon after graduating from Alta High School, he began obtaining the following contractor's licenses: General Engineering E100, Landscape and Recreation S330, and General Building B100. Early in his career, Rich took on numerous large, lucrative projects, including the $22 million Rocky Mountain Raceway, the $8 million Fox Point project in Draper, Utah, and the $3 million Riverton City project.
Richard's strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit led him to Park City. This popular tourist destination is where the Sundance Film Festival is held. Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley Resort, the Park City Museum, and the Alf Engen Ski Museum are just a few of the nationally renowned attractions found here. In Park City, Wolper's early successful projects included large-scale residential landscaping projects for high net-worth clients, such as numerous celebrities and well-known business leaders, and a $88 million Iroquois residential development site project that included excavation and the installation of a sewer, water, and storm drain system. Rich Wolper's dedication and significant contributions to the prosperity of the Park City region earned him numerous accolades, including the award for the best landscaping business in the Park City region for the year.
In 2011, Richard Wolper established Mark 25 Development and Group of Companies, SLC. It was created to consolidate his twelve businesses and focuses primarily on projects in the Park City, Utah region. Since the company's founding, Wolper has constructed three highly successful multifamily units. Black Rock Ridge has been one of the region's top-selling communities for several years, containing 420 units and is estimated to be worth $250 million. Rich Wolper considers his work a hobby because he enjoys it so much. However, this is not the only activity he enjoys. The Utah Outliers were founded in 2016 by Wolper and Paul Taylor, a renowned hockey coach with over 30 years of experience. This elite Tier II junior hockey club recruits talented players from around the globe. It affords them not only the opportunity to play but also the chance to use their skills to enter prestigious colleges and universities and pursue professional hockey careers. Wolper, who enjoys giving back and assisting others, is proud to sponsor and manage the team. Additionally, he gives to the local Jewish Chabad, the Park City Disability Center, and other charitable organizations. When time allows, he also enjoys golf tremendously.
